METRO DIRECTIONS TO THE SOUTH AGRICULTURE FEDERAL BUILDING
The South Agriculture Building houses agency support personnel for the Department of Agriculture.  The South
Building is located at the corner of 14th Street, SW and Independence Avenue SW.  The Jamie L. Whitten
Administrative Building for the US Department of Agriculture is located on the North side of Independence
Avenue, and the South Building is on the South side.   You will enter the South Building at the 7th Wing on the
Independence Avenue side.
Take the Metro BLUE or ORANGE line to the Smithsonian stop.
You will exit the Metro on the Smithsonian side.  You will need to go to your left when you exit the Metro
station and proceed along Independence Avenue to the 7th Wing entrance.  You should arrive early in order to be
checked in at the guard station.  To make the process easier, do not bring a lot of bags and if you bring a laptop
computer you will need to check it in and out (serial number, brand, etc.)
If you are staying at the Holiday Inn Capitol or other local hotel, the simplest way to get to the South Building is to
take a cab or walk.
If you require additional directions, please contact Marsha Hurd (202.401.5787) or Richard Reynnells
(202.401.5352).

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
Government identification is required to enter the building.
Persons having government identification do not need to register with Marsha.
For our NON-GOVERNMENT Friends: To expedite the registration process, please send your name,
affiliation, and email address to: Marsha Stephens Hurd, 800 9th St. SW, Room 3150 Waterfront Centre,

rreynnells@csrees.usda.gov.
Marsha will create the list of pre-registered and approved persons for security personnel.

On-site registration is available, but discouraged.  You may attend the meeting without being on the list but the
process to go through the security check point in the South Building and get to the Jefferson Auditorium will take
longer.
